Rotarians from the Copenhagen International Rotary Club (CIRC) and Malmö International Rotary Club (MIRC) joined forces on World Cleanup Day to collect trash and tidy up around Malmöhus Castle.

Rotarians and their family members gather in the courtyard of the castle.

Historic Malmöhus Castle was an especially appropriate choice for the two clubs given that it was built by King Eric of Pomerania — then ruler of the unified Nordic kingdoms of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. The original citadel was erected on the site in 1434 to guard the Öresund and control local trade.

The "clean-up crew" spent about 90 minutes collecting refuse around the castle area on Sunday morning, September 20th, before attending a presentation on Ocean College, followed by an informal group lunch at the castle's cafe.

Many thanks to CIRC for inviting us to join them in this fantastic initiative! We look forward to additional collaborations in the future.
